Hi Friends!
I decided to make a personal page in the Time Periods Game website, because I had some of my friends asking, so,
‘how are you involved in this’, and ‘why are you being so visible inside someone else’s game?’ and ‘why is this important to you?’
ALL good questions!
I hope this helps inform and inspire you. If you have other questions for me, shoot me a message on FB messenger, text or email at miramevivir@gmail.com
The Back Story:
As many of you may know, I’ve been involved in approx. 10 years of nonprofit work in Cuenca, Ecuador, with the last 4 years dedicated to leading Mirame, a women’s empowerment & education program that connections women to the power of their own body. This also includes a revival of ancestral Andean wisdom traditions, where pre-Columbian communities (like the Cañari people, those who existed in the Ecuadorian Andes before the Inca) were matriarchal, honored the moon, and valued cyclicity.
These elements are vital keystones for a woman to embrace as she awakens to the full embodiment of her personal power- and not as a man, nor as society instructs a lady to be – but as she herself truly is, in the embodiment of the energy cycles and rhythms of her own bio-system & blood-line.
All that aside, Christy Guyer has been a sister-friend of many years, and is a powerhouse believer in the transformation a woman can/will have once she connects to her sacred feminine essence. She’s been a vital sponsor that launched Mirame’s menstrual education and empowerment workshops for girls in marginalized Ecuadorian communities.
Christy walks her talk when it comes to empowering other women, and I am here to support her – and help more women and girls – in realizing the same mission! Let’s PLAY some MORE together!
Why THIS mission:
For me, the reason I am excited to be part of Normalize’s mission team is because:
1. The mission is BIG and audacious. It takes on the world of stubborn resistance to the gentle power of women and playfully says, “let’s change that”.
2. It is a mission that is universally impacts women, at the grassroots level. Positive shifts happen around a simple game-night, a kitchen table convo with friends, or in low-key workshops held in the Andean mountains.
3. I LOVE that this game introduces ‘random’ themes about the women’s experience in a tangible way that interlaces into gameplay – just like it subtly (and truly) interlaces its way into real life for all women, everywhere (however, how often do we speak to it!?) This game represents a way to get the external convo, and internal recognition, started!
Finally, I believe there is a space for joy and playfulness in this conversation that will move it forward in a way that speech, public discourse, and even education cannot.
Let’s make a game! Let’s have fun! Let’s take the heat out of the “weirdness of women’s issues today,” and lets just enjoy what comes up with an openness to be curious- FUN is the name of the game here.
Playing a NEW Game, and What You Can Do to Support:
This is a really important and exciting up-level of my role as an activist for the divine feminine and Pachamama, and what I can do to help “average Jane” women like me feel connected to such a strong, oft little recognize part of themselves that knits in to every aspect of their life (and life itself). It’s an EXTRA ordinary (re)discovery, that connects us back to ourselves as much as to Mother Nature 😊
I humbly request that, if you feel the call, take action and RESPOND to that call! Support this kickstarter in any way that feels good. You can contribute anywhere from $5.00 to $5,000 to make this grow!
You can feel AMAZING inside this support because you are:
- Uplifting everyday female voices and exploration around women’s stories in friendly, playful conversation
- Being a part of this new conversation that starts a grassroots revolution by playing this game.
- Supporting a female entrepreneur team committed to empowering other women & girls, regardless of geography (YOU are an ANGEL-funder).
- Sponsoring a years’ worth of menstrual education and empowerment workshop for girls from marginalized Ecuadorian communities
- Sharing the game with friends, family and people you enjoy makes YOU a leader of the Change through celebrating, hearing and acknowledging women’s and all people’s stories.
Making Dreams Come True:
We have BIG dreams inside this business, and not only will you receive a cool game for pledging at that level, when we reach our stretch goals, we can do cool things like get the game into educational and retail spaces, we can translate the game into multiple languages, and we will support our girls/women’s missions around the world!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider supporting with your amazing power of intention and attention.
Let’s PLAY!
