Coquelicot Gallery & Café In Chicago Hosts Women’s Empowerment Game Event
This Saturday, you can be a part of something truly incredible. You have the chance to join a community of strong, proud women at the launch of Time Periods a Women’s Conversation & Empowerment Game.
The event is being held this Saturday, the 17th of September at the Coquelicot Gallery & Café. It is open to you if you are interested in learning about Guyer’s new game, Time Periods, which is designed to be a fun and empowering way to open up a meaningful dialogue about women’s bodies and, yes, menstrual periods. The event will include fun game playing and will allow you to enjoy the light snacks, desserts and coffee and tea that are served at Coquelicot.

Christy Guyer, in her capacity as a head of Normalize the Period, has released the game in the light of a recent report from the New York Post in collaboration with THINX. According to their surveys, 58% of women have felt embarrassment simply for the fact that they are having their period and another 42% have experienced period shaming; most commonly by a male friend or colleague.
As such, Guyer believes that the conversation around menstruation needs to change. With Time Periods a Women’s Conversation & Empowerment Game, she has sought to make a game that can be played in your family or in female communities that can empower, especially young women and girls, and teach us all to celebrate the power of our bodies.
Beyond advocating for more normalized and public conversations about periods, you’ll love the fact that the game also celebrates what they call She-Ros, and gives you information on incredible women throughout different time periods.
These include real-life women like Patsy Mink, the first woman of color in the United States Congress, representing the 1960s and Marie Luhring, the first female auto engineer in the US, representing the 1920s.
The launch party has been sponsored by Innate Life Chiropractic and is completely free of charge. You need only to register online at Eventbrite.
Time Periods a Women’s Conversation & Empowerment Game was developed by Christy Guyer, the founder of Normalize the Period, and a passionate advocate for women’s rights and happiness.
A spokesperson for Guyer said, “At the Time Periods game event you will play, shop, drink, eat, create, engage all your senses and be empowered. Join us for a free afternoon playing the new revolutionary card game, Time Periods, while experiencing all that Coquelicot Gallery & Café has to offer.”
If you want to be one of the first women in America to enjoy playing Time Periods, make sure to head down to Coquelicot this Saturday.
